Checkpoint is always striving to be on the cutting edge of the next great thing. Our goals may remain the same, but the things we try adapt, evolve and shift considerably. For example, we've just wrapped our Mileage Mania, changed our stream schedule, launched our Sermon Talkbacks today, and recently revealed that we are producing a Documentary Screening & Panel Discussion for The Satanic Panic and the Religious Battle for the Imagination. Things are always exciting when you're a LVL2 member here at Checkpoint.
Considering this, we're taking the next step forward to allow you to participate here at Checkpoint Church. Next Friday (Aug 12), we will host an extended 8-hour stream called #WhyCheckpointChurch. We are moving towards a model of generosity to continue doing the innovative outreach required of this ministry. Before you click away and unsubscribe, let me explain what this will look like - this isn't a pledge drive nor a plea for sustainability.
Most church plants launch with the immediate option to support financially. With Checkpoint, we realized that we were in a strange spot. Digital ministry is novel. It's also bizarre. We didn't have a time when it felt right to take up tithes and offerings. What we did have was income from Twitch, Anchor, and the occasional donor. This has given us the unique option to build a culture of generosity slowly. We've been able to shape lives and make a difference without a time for tithes or even a worship service. We will likely never be the church that does that. Instead, we are a ministry with several unique ways to provide stewardship.
So, at this event, we will be setting a different kind of goal - we're going to share stories. We're going to share moments and memories. We will then share the exciting ways that you can uniquely help support us financially. We will reveal the excitement that comes along with our growing community of nerds, geeks, and gamers on Twitch, Discord, and YouTube. More info to come soon and very soon. We can't wait for you to join us on this next step.
